ニューヨークでキャリアをスタートさせ、約4年半にわたり、ハイレベルなファッションおよびコマーシャル制作の現場でアシスタントとして経験を積む。スピード感のあるエディトリアルや広告撮影を通して、技術的な正確さ、柔軟な対応力、そして制作現場に適した効率的なワークフローを培った。多国籍なチーム環境やタイトなスケジュール下においても、安定したクオリティと円滑なコミュニケーションを強みとしている。
独立後は日本を拠点に活動し、VOGUE Philippines のカバーをはじめ、Google、CHASE BANK、TOYOTA、CNN、BBC など、国内外のブランドキャンペーンやコンテンツ制作に多数参加。映像分野では、Carey Mulliganをはじめとする著名タレントのメイクも担当し、ドキュメンタリーやフィルム作品において、自然でストーリー性のあるルックを提供してきた。

Mao began her career in New York, where she spent over four and a half years assisting on high-level fashion and commercial productions. Working in fast-paced editorial and advertising environments, she developed a strong foundation in technical precision, adaptability, and efficient on-set workflow. She is experienced working within multicultural teams and under demanding production schedules, consistently delivering polished results while maintaining clear and collaborative communication on set.
Since becoming independent, Mao has been based in Japan and has contributed to a wide range of international campaigns and branded content, including cover work for VOGUE Philippines as well as projects for Google, Chase Bank, Toyota, CNN, and BBC. In film and motion work, she has also worked with talents including Carey Mulligan, creating nuanced and story-driven looks for documentary and film productions.
Her approach focuses on enhancing the skin’s natural texture and bone structure while bringing out the individuality and atmosphere of each subject. She is particularly drawn to refined, understated beauty with subtle dimension and detail. Her work ranges from fashion editorials and beauty campaigns to commercial, film, and celebrity grooming projects.
As a bilingual artist fluent in both Japanese and English, Mao works comfortably with international creative teams and global productions, bridging communication seamlessly across cultures and production environments.
